Too busy to be a blogger
Tuesday, November 13, 2007
It’s kinda sad, since the writer in me is screaming daily for an excuse to get out of my skin and spill words onto paper (or computer screens). Writing is one of my many neglects of late, after an exciting time as a semi-finalist at this year’s Austin Film Festival. My latest script, Static, is just one of several screaming for some brief attention and one more draft.

I’ve also got a third draft of my almost-ready-for-prime-time novel, a.k.a., withering in neglect. And a whole new book/script just bursting at the seams to be born, which for now I’ll just call Life/Death, and leave that tease for later...

All this of course in addition to having been a full-time digital rockstar at Teshler Inc. for a long eight months now. Geez, how time flies. (And no wonder I have no time to write. This whole “full-time job” thing really stinks.)

And I really, really wanted to shoot a short film this fall. Starring my beautiful four-year-old daughters no less.

Sigh.

Maybe in the spring...

Busy, busy, busy...

Too busy to blog, but a redesign here is imminent. I’m finally finding my place in the Austin film scene and starting to feel...comfortable. Been working on a few very cool little things in indie film, and it’s got me pretty jazzed. Hopefully, I’ll have more to report and blog about very soon...

Revamping the blog — iWeb
Friday, March 10, 2006
Decided to try something new. Clean slate. Again.

No one wants to subscribe to all my schizophrenic interests, so I’m splitting the blog into three. One for my general rambly self-indulgent crap, like this. Two, for zanegames news and updates, to continue any EDGE dialogue, or even in case I do soon end up with a job in the games industry.

Three: film. This is the one I expect to get busy and crazy, and hopefully really useful and occasionally thought-provoking and interesting. I need this separate so people can subscribe only to it and not be driven crazy by my game stuff or personal rants, which occasionally must be allowed to flow.

As for why iWeb: In addition to simply wanting to activate RSS, I need clean. I need the Apple vibe. I need something I will take pleasure in writing into. And so far, this seems like it might work for that. It’s simplicity or limitations may soon piss me off, but we’ll see. For now I want to focus on the words, not the technical underbelly.

We’ll see how it goes.

My personal rant blog is below, but you probably want either my film blog, or my games blog, one of the two sides that seem to dominate my split personality these days.
